It has indeed been 1 year of inexplainable and undeniable grace. I remember when Pearls was inaugurated exactly a year ago, I was wondering what we would be talking about that will still be relevant for even a year. I must admit it was really challenging at first, bringing together women from different backgrounds, but I was humbled by the massive support from these wonderful ladies.
In the space of 5 months, God increased us from 1 to 30 members and it has been on the increase ever since. The vision for the blog came in the month of August 2013, and the first post was published in the month of September 2013 (drstellz.wordpress.com).
The group finally moved from BBM to facebook (Pearls) in February 2014 and I can say that we have never had a better yesterday as we now have over 100 members within and outside the country.
One of our visions is to raise Godly women making a difference in our generation, and God has helped us affect the lives of a few orphans and abused children via our orphanage visit which took place in December 2013 and our children’s day party/donation which held on the 29th May 2014.
As is normal for every vision to be challenged by the opposition, I would admit that it was one of the most challenging periods of my entire life. There were times I felt like I was literally going through some kind of fire, but I thank God for his inexplainable grace that kept us moving on.
In this 1 year I have learnt absolute faith, love, responsibility, friendship, perseverance, and above all diligence.
I have learnt how to smile, laugh, and bear the burdens of others even in prayers and conversations, because I have come to realise that as a woman “We only bend, we never break”.
In 1 year we have celebrated weddings, birthdays, engagements, and several promotions. God has indeed been faithful. We have stood in the gap to pray about several issues a number of times and God has always given us testimonies.
I am indeed grateful to the giver of the vision and all I can say is “Twale Baba”, thank you Jesus for always showing up especially when it matters the most.
To my mentors and mothers who through their books and teachings I have and am still becoming a better woman, I would like to say a big thank you; Pst Nike Adeyemi, Pst Faith Oyedepo, Late Pst Bimbo Odukoya, the list is endless.
To all my friends and team members; Minat, Bidemi, Ore, Miebi, Nneka, Jumoke, Doyin, Evelyn, Funke, Anne, I could go on and on, thank you for never discouraging me despite my shortcomings, thanks for all the corrections and constructive criticisms.
To all the men that have been there for us, we love you plenty. Thanks a lot Femi, Bolu, Segun, you have been a great source of inspiration.
Happy anniversary pearls, you ladies rock. Our best days and years are definitely ahead. I love you!
