Look in the mirror; that is your competition.

Most times we get carried away with people’s accomplishments in their various endeavours especially when it seems like they are moving at a faster pace than we are.
look in the mirror

We sometimes compare ourselves with others consciously or subconsciously when we say things like; “My mates are married”, “I shouldn’t be at this level”, and so on. We begin to see people as our competition and then measure our success rates as a factor of theirs.

I would like you to know that your competition is not the person running next to us, rather it is ourselves. Your competition is who you currently are, and trying to be a better person than you are right now should be your goal.

Usain bolt said this at the last Olympics when he was asked the secret of his great success; “I don’t compete with men, I compete with time”. I believe what he is trying to say here is that his competition is with his last record time and not the people in the race with him.

This race called “life” is filled with ups and downs, and so we need something extra to help us run it without much stress. This stress reliever in the race of life is known as GRACE; God’s unmerited mercy and favour.
As we all run this race I trust God to engrace us to finish strong.

N/B; Only true children of God are entitled to his divine favour/grace.
If you want to make that decision today or you are not so sure if you have a relationship with God, kindly say this prayer of faith;

Lord Jesus, I come to you today. I am a sinner, forgive me my sins and wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me and on the third day you rose again that I might be justified. I accept you today as my Lord and Saviour. Now I believe I am born again and a child of God. Thank you Jesus Christ for saving me and giving me a fresh start” Amen!

Welcome to this great and loving family, Jesus loves you and I do too.

Consider these things!

Meditation like we all know is a quietly powerful way to deepen our spiritual life. The numerous examples in the Bible teach us the value of time spent in meditation. There are different ways to approach meditation; you can memorize passages of the scripture, you can begin or end your day with reading a devotional.

You can meditate on scripture, but spiritual reading can also include great books that have stood the test of time and listening to messages on your phones, PCs, and other devices, thanks to technological advancements.

When we set aside time for meditation, we open hearts and minds to the Spirit’s influence. Spiritual reading is about the attitude of your heart when you read as this helps us transform our readings into activities of love and attention.

As you read, think about what insights God might want to offer to you through those printed pages and how these things might apply to your daily life.

   “When you meditate, imagine that Jesus Christ in person is about to have a chat with you about the most important thing in the world Francois Fenelon. 1 Corinthians 13:9 says, we know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete.

God wants to speak personally to you in every moment of the day. Give him your complete attention! Make it a date with God, set a regular time of meditation and welcome His presence into your life. Stay lifted! … Miebi Ifie
