I’m tired….

I’m not doing again o, nobody should beg me please. If you want to give me something just give me not that you’ll be asking me and my friends to follow your 4th generation, like all your posts and las las we’ll still not win. Honestly this giveaway thing is becoming another matter, I’m not doing again sha. That’s how some weeks ago I tried winning wedding cake and dress, only for me to see the post on 2 different pages and the terms and condition wasn’t clear sef.

I deleted my post when I saw the number of likes on the other page, my followers were not even up to the number of likes. Oh, I forgot to mention those that will never announce winner. Guys, it’s not by force to do give away, please stop breaking our hearts. The only time I ever won a give away (a set of beautiful earrings), I forgot it either inside a public bus or a store I passively visited and when I considered the cost of going back to look for it I just gave up. Last week or so I saw one giveaway about a weekend getaway for 2, I no even bother (I’ve had enough heartbreaks please). Some people will do promo but the promo price will fear you sef.

If anyone can win a wedding giveaway on my behalf, please feel free to but I don’t think I’ll be participating in any anytime soon (I cannot come and kee myself biko) #weddinggiveaway #giveaway

I felt something trickle down my thighs as I tried to wake up that morning and I felt oh well I’m probably sweating again, I probably freaked out a little when it wouldn’t stop. I think I remember waking up and then finding blood stains on my dress. I told my mother and then she gave me some lecture on menstruation and of course the typical African mother phrase of “don’t let any boy touch you o”, Lol.

Thinking about it now, what if I didn’t have anyone to talk to or enlighten me about something as critical as this. Yes, I had gotten one or two lectures on puberty or menstrual cycle in school but the truth is not every girl has this opportunity whether from school or their homes for one reason or another.

I also remember how uncomfortable it was to set aside some money each month to buy sanitary pads especially for some of us with flows that could go as long as 5-6days.

Sometime in 2017, my friends and I decided to start a project focused on promoting menstrual hygiene, dental hygiene, general hygiene, sex education and mental health awareness amongst teenage girls in less privileged communities. We’ve reached out to over 400 girls in our last 3 editions and we’re looking to reach out to more in the coming years.

The next edition of the Beautopia Teen Girl Project @beautopiang will take place on Saturday, 25th May 2019 at the Makoko community of Lagos, Nigeria and we’re looking to reach out to over 200girls. You can Partner with us by making financial or material donations.
Material donations include the following: -Deodorants
-Sanitary towels
-Tooth paste -Tooth brush -Shaving Stick

Dear Future Husband…

Dear Future Husband,

I hope that you have been having the most incredible day. I just thought you should know a few things.

I make sure that I always say a little prayer for you. I pray that I am becoming the person you are looking for and vice versa. I pray that you are working to become the best significant other you can be, and the person to come in and be my other half, my best friend.

I know that God is working on us for each other every day.

I’m so happy we’re both being patient enough to wait until we find each other. Patient enough to know that if we settle we might not have the beautiful marriage we know we deserve one day. Patient enough to know that we may not be exactly where we want right now, but are working towards it.

I’m looking forward to you always knowing how to make me laugh and how to comfort me when I’ve had a less than perfect day. I hope you are amused by my nerdy jokes, and accept all of my little quirks.
I hope that I can always do the same for you too, and I promise to always try to laugh at your jokes. Even the not so funny ones.

I’m already in love with the moments and experiences we’ll get to share together. Lazy nights watching our favorite movies, eating our favorite meals, supporting each other’s dreams, trying new hobbies, dinner parties with our families, planning a family of our own and so much more.

I know it won’t always be easy, but it will always be worth it. I know we’re both a little scared but we’re in this together and it will be amazing and worth it.

I want us to always feel safe, secure and loved and know that those feelings will never change. I promise to always love you unconditionally!

You know those butterflies we would get in the beginning? I want us to still get those many years from now when we see each other. Not because we’re nervous, but because we still like a spark in each other.

I can’t wait for us to be in this and be weird together. I promise to always put my full effort into making you happy, smile and proud to have me by your side.

Whether you stumble upon this before we meet or years after we are together I hope it makes you smile. I hope it reassures you I’m in this with you.

Pray for a friend challenge!

It’s that time of the year again; Pray for 1 friend everyday. It’s not a denominational or church thing, it’s just something that dropped in my heart last year and I got a nudge to do it again this year.

So here’s how we’re going to go about; Draw a list with 3 columns and the title will be date, name of friend and prayer points(health, finance, salvation, fruit of the womb, etc) respectively.

We’ll be starting on Sunday, July 1st and end on the 21st. Start drawing up your list. The good thing is your friends don’t have to know you’re praying for them. Share this with your friends and let’s create a prayer chain.

Beautopia Teen Girl Project!

On days when I feel like giving up, those days when I feel I’m not good enough, those silent seasons when you wonder if anything is actually happening because you don’t “see” much change, days when you don’t feel appreciated, on those days I look at the smiles on the faces of people God has brought my way since the inception of Vertopia.

I’m not the smartest or holiest but somehow he chose to put this vision in my heart. I’m good enough because He thinks I am. Thank you Jesus for every single breath and opportunity to play my part.

I hope He’ll look at me someday and say “Well-done my faithful servant”. That to me is “Goals”.

Prayers for my Future Husband.

DAY 14 (Final day)

Lord I pray for strength in my future husband. Help him be strong against the wiles and evils of this world in our day and age. Lord I pray that he would feel strong enough to take on anything this life has to offer him with You by his side. Give him a noble heart, a steadfast spirit and a passionate pursuit for holiness.

Let him embrace his calling as a Christian leader in the 21st century and let him know the depth of influence that he has on others. Jesus, give him a fierce love for righteousness and a healthy fear of You, God. Thank you for him Jesus. Who ever he is, wherever he is, thank you for him. I surrender my thoughts and questions, doubts and fears in regards to my future husband.

Lord, take control of my love life, I entrust it to You. Please be the King of my heart, be all my hope and dreams. I love you Jesus. Thank you for all that you are doing in my life and in that of my Future Beloved’s! Amen.

Prayers for my Future Husband.

DAY 13

Jesus, I pray that you would bless my future husband with the gift of a loving, sweet and tender heart. Let him learn now while he is single to be a loving husband. Help him want to bless others and have a caring attitude. Teach him how to help others while they are hurting. Give him compassion. Let him know how to complete me when I’m stressed or upset. Let him know the right words to say and how to comfort me.

And Lord please give him loving friends and family to surround him with so that he never feels alone. Bless his day today and help him feel content and loved! Thank you Lord. Amen.

Prayers for my Future Husband

DAY 12

Lord, please bring my future husband the gift of joy and happiness today! Let his heart be light and care-free. Don’t let the troubles of life or this world bring him down. Let him enjoy life to its fullest today and everyday! Let his laugh be heard and his smiles be seen. Let him be a shining joy to all around him.

I pray that his family would encourage him and build him up so that he may do the same for others. Let the clouds of depression and worry see his joy and pass over him. Bring him peace and comfort so that he can experience the fullness of Your goodness Jesus. Thank you Lord! Amen.

Prayers for my Future Husband

DAY 11

Dear God, please help my future husband to be a good leader in whatever position you may have him to be in now and in the future. May his life(At home, work, church, etc) and the things that he does be about bringing glory and honor to you.

May the other people around him see you through him and want to come to know you. Especially in our home help him to lead our family in a godly way. And give him wisdom and discernment and help in making any hard decisions that might come our way. Thank you Lord. Amen
